Xavier Vignon’s wish is that
He lives by the motto of ‘making people happy when they open a bottle of wine’. As such, all it takes is for him to shut his eyes and imagine himself around a table, ready to indulge in a moment of sharing. And then to watch as all these little faces light up… A very simple formula that is firmly rooted in his daily actions and centered around this dimension of union, transmission and commitment.
He inherited this appreciation for life’s pleasures from his grandmother and he still cherishes the memories of everyone sitting around the dinner table together. Wines are there to be tasted, enjoyed and paired with a dish, which is precisely why his wines have this hedonistic dimension to them, easy to drink in spite of their southern character. ‘The more the merrier’ is a rule that he lives by and he thinks nothing of adding a place set here or a glass there, or pulling up an extra chair to make sure everyone feels welcome. He adores the company of inquisitive guests at the dinner table, those who enjoy life’s pleasures and sharing them with others in a warm and relaxed environment.
It is this very spirit of cohesion and collective strength that brought together over 100 winemakers from the Rhône Valley in order to create the cuvée Vendémiaire II, a wine made using organic cultivation practices. It flies the flag high for the French art-de-vivre and strikes a chord, not just with the winemakers, but with all who share this passion for celebrating France and its talents around the world.
